A Path To Take "Music can not be touched or seen, it can only be felt and it is the feeling when one plays or conducts, the best thing that one can receive", Diego commented about his profession. "In my short time conducting, everything that has happened to me has been like a dream, too fast. I am using all that advice, all those opportunities showing up now and I firmly believe that without the Master’s creation, never in life would I have had it". And it so happens that this new phase has been quite fast since the beginning. Diego had the opportunity to be tutored by Simon Rattle –who invited him to conduct a rehearsal of the Simón Bolívar Orchestra during his time in Venezuela in July 2007, and by Master Claudio Abbado, whom he assisted during January-March the same year. He has also been Assistant Conductor for Gustavo Dudamel with the Simón Bolívar Orchestra on their most recent tours over America and Europe, and with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Parallel to conducting, he has continued working his way as a performer. Young Matheuz is considered one of our country’s great talents on violin, which awarded him an invitation by Master Claudio Abbado to play on the first violin row at the Mozart Orchestra, with which he has performed in many cities of Italy. The most recent season with this orchestra was on November 2007. Focused on not leaving the score stand, Diego says that he always has many opportunities to play solo: "Of course, I have been a little off of that life because of lack of time to study and be better prepared, but soon I will take some time to study again and return to the field and play".
